Should Women be trusted to Dispose Condoms?

I previously wrote an article about 3 things that Kenyans don’t like wearing and one of them was condoms! While this is one of the best ways to get protection from Sexually transmitted diseases, there are many myths that revolve around condom use that we should demystify here. One of such myths is whether a girl can be trusted to dispose condoms!

I overheard one of my notorious friends saying that he would never trust a girl to dispose condoms after sex. Initially thought this was ridiculous and whether the man or the woman disposed the condom was inconsequential but his argument was very intriguing! After listening to this argument I thought this guy was either too paranoid or sick! What do you think?

He argued that there was a possibility of foul play if you allowed a woman to dispose condoms, while this sounds pervert like. You must be very

3 Things Kenyans won’t Wear Condoms First!

It’s been a while since I got a chance to write a blog thanks to many generous people who have made my holiday a great success story! I hope you are also having a wonderful festive period and have managed to travel to ocha safely for those of us who must go to ocha this time of the year. When traveling a few days ago I could not help thinking about Kenyans and the risks they take! I think Kenyans are some of the highest risk takers in living in the world today!

We watch so many ads advocating for change of behavior in Kenya but very few reliable researches are done to determine whether the efforts work. We spend millions of shillings on social behavior change but we are not keen to see how effective the campaigns have been on our society. In my research I have realized Kenyans are notorious for not wearing three things that put their life to potential risk.
The following are the three things Kenyans are hesitant to wear:

The Advice: ‘Utaacha Mshamba Uoe Malaya! ‘Helped Me!

A while ago I came across a brawl in down town Nairobi involving a smartly dressed man and a ‘Mukorino’ woman. The scuffle lasted for a few minutes and seemed to be some love gone sour. It was not until that some plain clothed officers swung into action to restrain this furious woman that I watched the man take into heels and disappear into the crowd!

The crowd laughed as though this was an extra ordinary occurrence in the streets of Nairobi,  but what lingers in my mind to this day, are words that woman uttered when she was led away by the police  Umeacha Mshamba uoe Malaya(You Leave a Naรฏve Wife for a Whore !) As I listened people gathered there talking about the cause of this scuffle, I realized this man had moved to town leaving his wife in their matrimonial village and had always avoided her former wife since he was now having a ‘Gashugwa’

Days later someone else mentioned to me the same thing; how you can aacha mshamba and oa Malaya! In this context I

How to tell if she is Worth a Relationship

Someone last week shared his painful memory of love gone sour and I would not help wonder why men stick around to women who will obviously disappoint them. If you see the warning signs that she is likely to disappoint you, there is not point of giving yourself some false hopes…just take the high road and never look back. For the sake of this disappointed friend and others out there, I have struggled to come up with a list I would call the tell tale signs that this girl will disappoint you.

Whether you meet in the bar, church , fitness club, school or in a bus stop, virtually all the women react the same way to attraction and you can easily tell if she is interested or not. Never force things ….be an ALPHA! If you are warming up to this chic and things seems to be going in the right

10 Lessons Celebs and Politicians Should Learn from ‘Caroline Mutoko Madeness ‘

It’s barely a few days since the social media beef between Carol Mutoko and some aggrieved ‘Kenyan Youths’ started. I have been reading some comments posted on the page lately and I would not help bursting in laughter. So I would like to let our Celebs and Politicians learn a few lessons here about social media and avoiding negative publicity from social media ‘s viral power

Most Important Lesson : There is a Serious Generation Gap Between Kenyan Leaders (the so called Vijana) and Kenyan Youths

There exist a serious generation gap between our leaders who want to call themselves Vijana and the real Vijana. This generation gap calls for tolerance when dealing with these youths if you are a leader or a public figure. You should be willing to come down from the ivory tower you live in; to the humble mindset of these young fellows. Strike a compromise; don’t haul insults on someone because they made a suggestion about something silly. You should be willing to bridge this generational gap for you to survive in the realms of power, fame and popularity among Kenyan youths.

     # 1 Respect Earns you More Respect
I was told time and again by my teacher that I should learn to respect my elders and that stuck in my mind to this very day. What he failed to tell me; was if I became a King I should also respect my subjects. Some time in life we find ourselves in positions that we have subjects. Even in your own house you have a

Feminism is Slowly Killing Marriages in Kenya!

There is a sharp increase in the number of marriages that are hitting the rocks every other day. A close look at what could be the reason why marriage institution have become vulnerable to failure is the increase in what I call ‘unjustified feminism‘. Kenyan society is one that characterized by explosiveness in pursuit of rights and power.

This could be the reason why in the last two decades women have been over sensitized about their marital rights (haki yetu) resulting in an ‘only women agenda ‘driven society.

Talk of men being battered, denied sex, denied right of children visitation, extortion and all manner of bad things happening silently to men in the name of ‘women rights’  In the past one year we have seen not less than three major cases of men who have been seriously battered hospitalized. Several other men have been left by their spouses and denied the right to

Sunday Inspiration : Psalms 23 Sheng Version

Its Sunday again and I hope you had a nice week. I received this Verse from a friend and I would like to share it as our Sunday inspiration:

Why I Gave Up Dating Short Women !

Lil Kim : Source
Lately I have had girls fuss around about how they are looking for tall guys yet most of them fall below 4 ft in height. One of my ladies colleagues even told me that she would forgive a guy on anything else so long as he is tall. Note I mean physical height (not elsewhere)

This sounds ridiculous since by evolution a large percentage of men have gradually reduced in height to below 6 ft.  I also made a crazy observation that most of this women demanding tall ..blah ..blah blah ...are serious victims of Short Woman Syndrome.

When I decided to write about my experience with dating short women I wanted to write something solid. I did a quick research on Tinker Bell Syndrome that is synonymous with Short Girl/ Woman Syndrome. I was amused by some things I read. I began by the definition of Short Woman Syndrome and this is what I found out from urban dictionary...

And she claims she was only with me for the currency.  You cut me deep, bitch, cut me like surgery and I was too proud to admit that it was hurting me I'd never do that to you, at least purposely…..’
These are lines borrowed from Kanye West in the song Bitter Sweet. … This story will reflect on how you can get wasted chasing wind, a game that many young Nairobi women have mastered...BEWARE!

Denial
Ask any Kenyan guy about what happened to their relationship when its broken the will either reply ‘ Nilimdump …sikuwa serious…..only a few guys will say…’nilikuwa wasted… we are often very proud of admitting failure even in our own eyes. ……when you are alone in your truest self you count your losses

So today I want you to trim your ego for the next 5 minutes and read this story it might make a little difference the way it did to me…

The Most Common Pitfalls for Men Getting Married In Kenya !

‘Kenyans invest in shoes and beer and don’t want to invest in their health…’ Professor Anyang Nyong was quoted some while back.  I listened to this comment from the public health minister realized this truism could only make sense to those who cared to think about what he meant.
For a moment if you think of getting married soon you need to be critical and embrace reality instead of living in Mexican soap operas idiocy. I have taken time to research how young men are getting wasted by the pursuit of a DREAM WEDDING DAY some going to the extent of borrowing from financial institutions to just make a show.

The problem starts with the local airwaves that are buzzing with

Sunday Inspiration : How to Stop Worrying

In the recent times so many bad things (Alshabab attacks, police killings, accidents) happen around us and we worry about bad things that can happen to us. Its human nature to worry but the best way to live a life free of worries is using the technique I call ' Worst case Scenario ...'

You should always ask your self ...What is the worst case possible to happen...then evaluate the options you have and soon you will begin to realize there are more options to the problem at hand than worry about it.  As a young man living in a country marred by corruption, favoritism, tribalism, nepotism ....and the other vices, trying to cultivate a positive mindset may be had to come by especially when you are jobless, heartbroken, damn broke and your dreams getting broken by the hour....

Changing the way you look at things and giving problems a dose of optimism makes you

Change in Kenya Begins with you where you are ….

At this moment Kenya is a bubble of enthusiasm as we tirelessly chant and talk at each other. We seem to have lost our sanity as we fight for our political camps as we wait for next year elections. I am not a prophet of doom but with this mentality Kenyans have embraced for generations, we really need a miracle for change to be felt not even seen.

Unlike other people argue that the constitution has granted us the change we needed, I think we are still far from the real change. I know humans by nature are conservative, but if we truly yearn for change in this country we need to learn how to make sacrifices. Unless we learn, we will remain in this circus of dancing to the song our tribal chiefs sing.

It baffles me how our leaders take us for a ride …..We need to embrace a mindset that allows change to thrive and the real change begins with you wherever you are….

Top 10 Toughest Jobs in Kenya

Toughest Jobs In Kenya
In the past few days our nation has been engulfed by immense grief resulting from the loss of 46 police officers to bandits in Suguta Valley. What has followed is an endless blame game that is not only unnecessary but shocking! My concern is the fact that some of these policemen were rookies who had just left college the other day. I sympathize with these young men.

I am in particular concern that the police were not only ill equipped but also inexperience to fight bandits in that terrain. Something should be done to avert such deaths of young officers. I salute these gallant officers since they selflessly live everyday to make us safe. We cannot ask for more …..

Some careers in Kenya make up some of the toughest jobs in the world due to risks that are associated with this kind of jobs. I have come up with a list of ten jobs that I regard as the toughest jobs in Kenya. Some of the factors that make the toughest jobs in Kenya to be tougher are:

Poor Remuneration
Inadequate Equipment
Tough Working Environment
Inadequate training
Inexperience to new working environment

Top Ten Toughest Jobs in Kenya
# 1 Kenya Defence Forces

Kenya Defence forces are indeed one of the toughest jobs in the country. They are mandated to protect the country sovereignty and ensure they eliminate national threats. This is tall order and they have made us proud in their recent incursion in Somalia.

# 2 Kenya Police

Joining Kenya police is as tough as the job, the young men who succeed to join Kenya police are soon converted to tough officers who are ready to combat crime,

Why Success Only Comes to Those Who Leave their Mother’s Quarters Early in Life!

I often get disturbed by the fact that most young men in the recent times want to bask in the glory of their parents wasting away the most productive time in their lifetime. Growing up in the village presented those of us who grew up there with serious challenges, which we had to overcome to at least come close to being successful in life.

I once heard a story that in the past, if you came of age and your parents thought you could take care of yourself as a man, they urged you to go out there and look for something to do to make money. To some extent the father could destroy your ‘ Thingira ‘( young man’ s crib ) so that you could no longer be accepted there, for you to learn how to hustle.

If we carried out a survey we would see that most successful young hustlers in this city came from all other places to Nairobi and they hardly knew any other place other than TEA ROOM…. Machakos Country Bus …Mololine… KaKa ….and all those funny places. They all had one thing in common they wanted to make a difference.

Making the difference in life as a young man comes by nurturing

The Most Incredible Sex Story as told by a Herbalist

Nothing beats a man’s ego than premature ejaculation and or erectile dysfunction. A while ago while patrolling the streets of Nakuru I came across this herbalist whose sales pitch made me realize how gullible young men can become.

The sales pitch also made me realize we do not give our best to make ends meet.....(how many of us would craft such stories to just make $$$ )

We have all seen these herbalists who proclaim they sell ancient herbs that will make you do this or that….I always pass by such people and rarely give them audience.

For this particular herbalist I was curiously attracted by his ability to choose and use the right words, the most interesting fact being his funny stories.

When Men CRY, It leaves nothing to be Desired! Why Obama Cried Yesterday !

It’s a common perception that men should not cry since it’s seen as a sign of masculine weakness. I think crying or not crying can never be use as a yardstick to measure the strength of a man. Crying is personal and does not make you less a man but crying for votes like our politicians do leave less to be desired!

After watching the video of Obama emotional speech and watching the president of the most powerful state sob, I realized sometimes men can be forced by circumstance to cry!

When Men Should Cry!
I know most men in their boyhood they cried one, two or several times but for different reasons. One of the most common things

The Most Important Lesson I learnt about Getting Married

I know many young men when they hit the age of 25 they certainly face the reality that marriage life is beckoning! It’s been a while since I saw 25 come and go and I am still counting years. Not until the recent past that one of my aunts asked me ‘Meku andu aku’ loosely translated as where is your family (wife and possibly kids)?  Social pressure comes from all quarters and when you turn to your buddies who are married there you are unwelcomed.

Women are very notorious for demanding commitment without understanding why most young men fear getting committed and settling down to build a family. So this is the lesson from my married friend who is in his thirties married for half a decade.

I had asked him if I was getting late since one of my closest buddies is getting married soon. He began by a quote ‘ If you want to get fleas sleep with dogs’ If you are in the company of people who constantly want to influence you to getting married you will certainly get married.

I am not opposed to people getting married in fact it’s your responsibility to do so but we need to examine some facts that are making modern marriage a fail.  My friend continued with his lesson that I would call the

Why Kenyan Men Dread a Woman President..

Martha Karua

Mention to many men in Kenya about a Woman president next year and most of them would rather vote for their most 'unpopular' candidate than vote for a woman. We have been having this debate with my colleagues for a while but I can’t help but draw these conclusions from our discussions.

Voting for a Woman President is a No for Most Kenyan Men Why?
Most of my buddies agree with no irk that a woman president would definitely change this country but most of them will not vote for a woman. Why? Ask American white extremist why they would rather have voted for a black man than vote for Hillary! We have agreed that all the most women aspiring for presidency lack good presentation to a male voter.

Most men even the so called 'Gentle Men’ have serious egos that need to be pampered and idolized by their partners. Most of the women who aspire to rule us next year don't symbolize that submissive woman all Kenyan men
